While I don't know what responses they might evoke (I am
a new
kid on the block), I think the present generation of Americans know
nothing about this--and that in itself is dreadful. I was in Kyoto in
mid-March with my 18 year old granddaughter, preparing to go on to
Hiroshima, when war broke out. United Airlines was only too happy
to
put us on the next returning flight, and we didn't get there. I hope
my
granddaughter will see Hiroshima some time, but even more
important, that
she see articles such as this one. Let this
generation know what is
happening, and sort it out in light of their
own understanding.
