石井吉徳氏の論文はとても啓蒙的でした。　後半は主にエントロピーについての熱力学第二法則をバックボーンとされておられますが、私も最近の再生エネルギー、新エネルギーについての楽観的な議論を聞く度に、この地球上ではエントロピーの法則を軽視するような議論は、所詮は一過性の、もしくは限定的なもの、と苦々しく思っております。　インプットとして注入するエネルギーだけではなく、そのための資金、労力、補助金、および世論への影響などこそ、まさに「不可逆的」ですから、そのことも含めてもっと科学的に進めるべきだと、思っております。

エントロピー増大についてのこの熱力学第二法則の絶対性について、電磁気学の祖（？）であると共にガス分子速度分布曲線で有名なMaxwellが次のように言っています：
　　　”The 2nd law of thermodynamics has the same degree of truth as the statement that if you throw a tumblerful of water into the sea, you cannot get the same tumblerful out again" Letter to Lord Rayleigh, December, 1870

これなど、よく使われる例えですが、そのMaxwell theoryを引き出して、もっと面白いことを言っている人もいます。
　　　”The second law of thermodynamics holds,I think, the supreme position among the laws of nature. If someone points out to you that your pet theory of the universe is in disagreement with Maxwell's equations-- then so much the worse for Maxwell's equations. If it is found to be contradicted by observation--- well,these experimentalists do bungle things sometimes. But if your thoery is found to be aginst the second law of thermodynamics I can give you no hope;there is nothing for it but to collapse in deepest humiliation" Arthur Eddington, The Nature of the Physical World, 1927
